Premium inspection report with CMM measurement

The premium inspection report is the right option if precise component characteristics need to be documented through metrology. As part of our premium quality assurance, your CNC milled or CNC turned parts are inspected using modern, calibrated measuring and testing equipment. For suitable geometries, this also includes coordinate measuring technology, abbreviated as CMM.

The inspection results are documented in a signed inspection report. Please mark the relevant inspection characteristics on the technical drawing. If no specific details are provided, we will inspect all explicitly toleranced dimensions, fits, as well as geometric tolerances (GD&T). Threads and fits are checked using suitable gauges whenever possible.

The premium inspection report includes measurements for up to 5 components. Different sample sizes can be specified in the “Manufacturing notes” field.

First Article Inspection Report (FAIR)

A First Article Inspection Report, abbreviated as FAIR, documents that a component was manufactured according to the required specifications. This option is particularly suitable for quality-critical components, series production launches, new supply chains, or internal approval processes.

The FAIR contains a component description, a premium inspection report with CMM testing for up to 5 parts, a material certificate, and, if agreed upon, documentation of the relevant manufacturing processes.

In this way, the FAIR supports a structured technical approval of milled parts, turned parts, and other components from CNC machining.

2.1 Declaration of compliance with the order according to DIN EN 10204

The declaration of compliance with the order according to DIN EN 10204 Type 2.1 is a manufacturer’s declaration. It confirms that the delivered components comply with the agreed specifications.

An individual inspection of the delivered components is not a part of this certificate. The 2.1 declaration of compliance is suitable for orders where a formal confirmation of conformity is required, but batch-specific test values are not necessary.

2.2 Test report according to DIN EN 10204

The test report according to DIN EN 10204 Type 2.2 also confirms that the delivered components comply with the agreed specifications. In addition, it contains non-specific test values, which may originate from similar production batches or internal testing, for example.

This option is useful when complementary test values are required alongside the declaration of conformity, but a specific inspection certificate for the actual delivered batch is not required.

Material certificate

The material certificate serves to document the material used. Depending on availability, it includes an inspection certificate according to EN 10204 Type 3.1 or a material data sheet, supplemented by a spectral analysis of the chemical composition of the delivered batch.

This option is particularly relevant when material traceability, material conformity, or internal quality requirements must be documented. Especially for engineered milled and turned parts, the material certificate is an important component of the order documentation.

Material testing by an independent testing laboratory

During material testing, the chemical analysis of the delivered material batch is performed by an independent and accredited testing laboratory, such as TÜV or SGS.

Mechanical testing is available upon request. This option is suitable for applications with increased requirements for material conformity, component safety, or external documentation obligations.

Surface roughness inspection report

The surface roughness inspection report documents defined surface roughness values on the manufactured components. Up to 5 roughness values can be specified.

Please mark the exact measuring points on the technical drawing. This ensures that the inspection is performed on the functionally relevant surfaces. Different sample sizes can be specified in the “Manufacturing notes” field.

This option is particularly relevant for CNC milled parts and turned parts with sealing surfaces, sliding surfaces, mating surfaces, or visually demanding surfaces.

Post-heat treatment report

The post-heat treatment report documents the steps performed during the heat treatment process. The report is created by the treatment provider and includes a detailed documentation of the relevant process steps.

This option is suitable for components where heat treatment, microstructural properties, or strength requirements must be traceably documented.

Certificate of Origin (IHK)

The Certificate of Origin is a trade policy document that certifies the country of origin of a product. It is frequently required for international shipments, customs clearance processes, or client-side import requirements.

For CNC components ordered through InstaWerk as an online manufacturer, a Certificate of Origin from the Chamber of Commerce (IHK) can be selected as additional documentation.

Country of origin and HS code on invoice

With this option, the country of origin and the HS code or customs tariff number for all line items are displayed on the invoice.

This supports customs- and trade-related documentation, particularly for cross-border shipments or internal compliance processes.

Self-declaration of REACH and RoHS compliance

InstaWerk has REACH and RoHS compliance agreements in place with all manufacturing partners. Upon request, we can provide you with our general REACH and RoHS declaration of conformity as a signed PDF document.

This self-declaration supports companies in meeting regulatory requirements and internal compliance standards.

Self-declaration of compliance with Russia sanctions

InstaWerk has Russia sanctions compliance agreements in place with all manufacturing partners. We can provide you with our general Russia sanctions declaration of conformity as a signed PDF document.

This option is suitable for companies that require additional evidence regarding sanctions-related requirements within their procurement processes.

Supplier Code of Conduct

InstaWerk has a comprehensive Supplier Code of Conduct, also referred to as a Code of Conduct or CoC, which has been agreed upon with all manufacturing partners.

We provide you with the signed Supplier Code of Conduct agreement as a PDF document. This gives you formal documentation regarding the fundamental requirements for responsible cooperation within our manufacturing network.

Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA)

For confidential projects, we provide you with a signed Non-Disclosure Agreement, or NDA, as a PDF document. This document is signed by the customer and subsequently returned to InstaWerk.

This option is particularly relevant for new product developments, proprietary designs, confidential drawings, or safety-critical projects.

ISO 9001 certified manufacturing partner

When this option is selected, the entire order will be executed by an ISO 9001 certified manufacturing partner. InstaWerk will issue a signed confirmation to this effect.

This provides you with additional assurance that your milled parts, turned parts, or other CNC components are manufactured within a certified quality management system.

Self-declaration of POP compliance

InstaWerk has POP compliance agreements in place with all manufacturing partners. Upon request, we can provide our general POP declaration of conformity as a signed PDF document.

This self-declaration supports the documentation of regulatory requirements within professional procurement and quality processes.

Other inspections and certificates available upon request

The options available for online selection cover frequently required criteria for quality control, material documentation, compliance, and export documentation. In addition, further certificates or inspection services can be requested individually via email.

This includes, for example, customer-specific inspection plans, extended sampling sizes, additional measuring points, mechanical material testing, specialized documentation formats, or project-specific approval documents.

In this way, InstaWerk combines the speed of a digital manufacturing platform with the flexibility of professional industrial procurement.

Which certificates and declarations can I select directly online?

Directly available online are options including the premium inspection report, initial sample inspection report (ISIR), declaration of compliance with the order 2.1, test report 2.2, material certificate, material testing, roughness measurement report, post-heat treatment protocol, certificate of origin, HS code on invoice, REACH and RoHS declaration, Russia sanctions declaration, supplier code of conduct, non-disclosure agreement (NDA), ISO 9001 certified manufacturing partner, and POP declaration.

Can additional inspections or certificates be requested?

Yes. All inspections and certificates not listed online can be requested individually via email. Please describe as precisely as possible which inspection, sample size, or documentation you require.

For which components are inspection reports recommended?

Inspection reports are particularly valuable for functional milled parts, turned parts, and CNC components with tight tolerances, fits, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), sealing surfaces, safety-critical features, or for production series approvals.

Do I need to mark inspection characteristics on the drawing?

For targeted inspections, the relevant inspection characteristics should be marked directly on the technical drawing. If no specific indications are provided, we will inspect all explicitly toleranced dimensions, fits, as well as geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) for the premium inspection report.
